Welcome to True Life Documentaries ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, subscribing to a Membership plan, or otherwise using our website and services, you agree to the following terms.
True Life Documentaries uses Aria, an AI documentary interviewer, to conduct guided, on-camera interviews with you, and an AI-driven editorial process to turn that footage into finished documentary episodes as part of an ongoing series. Each episode, including your first, is purchased individually at the rate shown on your Membership page; an optional membership unlocks a discounted rate on every episode for as long as it stays active.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use our services. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will close it and delete the associated information.
Your recorded voice may be treated as biometric information under certain state laws. By recording an interview with Aria, you give your explicit, informed consent to our collection and processing of your voice, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not clone your voice. You may withdraw this consent at any time by requesting deletion of your voice data, though this may limit our ability to produce episodes that rely on it.
Each episode is purchased individually, at the rate shown for its length at the time you choose it. When starting an episode, you also choose how your episode uses footage — stock footage chosen for you, a blend of your own footage and stock, or 100% your own footage — each at the price shown at that time; 100% your own footage and a blend of footage both cost more than relying on stock, reflecting the added value of your own material and the extra effort of filming it. The total price for your episode, including any footage selection, is charged in one single payment before your interview begins. Joining the optional monthly or annual membership unlocks a discounted rate on every episode and footage selection, for as long as your membership stays active. You may cancel your membership at any time from your portal; cancellation stops future membership billing effective at the end of your current billing period, and any episodes already purchased remain yours regardless. Each episode length is shown as an approximate range (for example, "3-5 minutes") rather than an exact runtime. Your actual episode's length depends on the real content of your interview and our editorial judgment in telling your story well; it is not guaranteed to match any specific number of minutes, though we aim to meet or exceed the lower end of the stated range for the length you choose.
Membership is a recurring subscription: $30 per month or $300 per year. By joining, you authorize us to charge the card you have on file at the start of each billing period, after any membership credit on your account has been used, and it renews automatically until you cancel. We will email you a reminder about 7 days before a charge. You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard, and you will not be charged again after you cancel. If a payment fails we will let you know and may retry; after repeated failures your membership is paused. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not refund amounts already paid for the current billing period. Episodes and credit purchases are one-time purchases and do not renew.
Revisions are available on any episode, so you can refine anything that isn't quite right. A revision is priced the same as a new episode of the same length, at your member or non-member rate as shown on your Membership page. There is no free round — every revision is billed.
You own 100% of the rights to your own life story, the specific words and memories you share, and every finished episode produced from your interviews. Your episodes are yours to keep, publish, share, or use however you like — we claim no ownership over them. By using our services, you grant us only the limited right to record, process, and edit your interview footage solely for the purpose of producing your episodes and operating the service, including through the third-party AI and production tools described in our Privacy Policy. You may permanently delete any of your episodes at any time from your portal; deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you invite another person to be interviewed as part of your episode, you are responsible for ensuring they are a willing, informed participant. Each invited guest is interviewed under their own account and retains the same rights over their own recorded footage as any other participant. Before a guest is interviewed they must accept a release consenting to the recording and use of their voice, image and words in the film. You confirm that you have told your guests about the episode. The add-on you pay for each guest is not refunded as money, but if a guest does not finish we convert it to credit on your account on request (see our Refund Policy). Combined episodes are produced only once all invited participants have completed their interviews or been credited.
Portions of your episode — including editorial structure, narration (if selected), stock footage selection, and audio scoring — are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence based on what you share during your interview. Artificial intelligence technology is continuously evolving, and while we actively work to improve its accuracy and reliability, it can make mistakes — including in editorial choices, audio mixing, footage selection, or technical glitches during rendering. We do not guarantee that any episode will be entirely free of such errors. If something goes wrong or does not reflect your story as intended, we are genuinely here to help; please review your finished episode and reach out or request a revision so we can make it right.
You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes, and not to use Aria or our platform to harass, defame, or misrepresent any real person, including anyone you invite as a guest.
You may upload only photos, video, audio, and other material that you own or have permission to use. We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe material on our service infringes your copyright, send a written notice through the contact form described in the Contact section below, identifying the work you believe was infringed and the material you believe infringes it, and we will review it and remove material that infringes. We may close the accounts of users who repeatedly upload infringing material.
True Life Documentaries will make commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard all client materials, recordings, and data. We are not liable for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including third-party service outages.
All subscription payments and credit purchases are final and non-refundable once your episode, trivia game, or other content has been successfully delivered. The one exception: if a technical failure on our end prevents an episode from being produced at all, we will either resolve the issue and deliver it, or refund that specific charge. Canceling your subscription stops future billing but does not refund amounts already paid for the current billing period. Credit on your account never expires, has no cash value, and cannot be paid out as money; credit we give you for free (coupons, gifts, free months) cannot be refunded. Deleting an episode is permanent and does not entitle you to a refund or credit for it.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of your account after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Questions about these Terms can be directed to us through our contact form, by email at billing@truelifedocumentaries.com, or by phone at (781) 374-3177 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm PT).
